United States Supply offers Doctor Shears with the necessary straightness required to doctor-off excess color paste from textile print cylinders. Each half of the two-sided holder is straightened after machine profiling. The two matched halves are then drilled, tapped, and bolted together and straightened once again. Our steel and brass combination shear is offered as a single or double-sided unit depending on your individual preference. Shafts are sleeved and are replaceable should excessive wear occur. We offer all of the standard sizes for the Rice Barton Roller Print machine, as well as, customized designs in aluminum or stainless steel for special applications.
Thrust Collars eliminate excessive heat caused by side pressures generally found in roller print machines. We incorporate replaceable “High” Thrust bearings in every Collar assembly. Our outer thrust ring is designed to fit and protect mandrel shoulders and bronze bushings from excessive wear. Standard Rice Barton or custom sizes are available upon request. Give us your mandrel shoulder length and diameter and we’ll do the rest.
We supply a complete line of “Fit” registration gears ranging from twenty-five (25) through thirty-five (35) tooth. They are available in steel, fiber, or plastic. Each unit is pre-assembled and tested for worm and quill alignment. Our standard gears are 3-1/4” face x 2-7/16” I.D. housing x 1-1/16” circular pitch. Gear replacements, housing parts (guts), or special sizes are available upon request.
Our Safety Ring is a stamped and beveled steel disk, which is larger in diameter than the “Fit” gear. It covers the “Fit” gear teeth as well as the “Star” gear teeth without interference with worm and quill adjustments. The ring is easily installed in several minutes and does not require gear disassembly. It adds little weight and provides a handle-like surface to install or remove the entire assembly.
